While it is essential to plan out the activities to fill your holiday vacation with fun and excitement, planning your accommodation is important, too! Especially if you’re heading to a beach, a beach hotel can either make or break the entire experience for you. In other words, you must book the perfect beach hotel that satisfies all your requirements.
We’re here to give you three tips on how you can select the perfect beach hotel:
1. Remember Your Experiences
If you’ve done plenty of traveling, you may have a good idea of what a good hotel is, in your opinion. From amenities, room size, and others, you will have your preferences already made up. Sit down and list out the characteristics of an ideal hotel.
If you’ve been to the same hotel before, that’s even better, as you are more aware of what they have and the location around them. If you were happy with them previously, there’s a high chance that you’d be pleased with them again. However, be aware that if that memory is from a few years back, things might have changed. It doesn’t hurt to do some online research to figure out the current state of the hotel of choice.
2. Read the Reviews
A great way to catch up on how a beach hotel is doing is to read what the customers say. Sites like Agoda and TripAdvisor are great platforms for you to look for customer reviews of individual hotels. When reading these reviews, note down what specifics the customers point out that are good or bad.
Be aware, though, that while some customers may be delighted with a beach hotel’s service, others might not be. While customer reviews are excellent sources of information, it would be better used as a support to a general review. For example, look at sites that have an overall score of a hotel. That way, while you can see what customers point out that’s good or bad, you know what the majority feels about the place.
Ask an Expert
Travel agents or agencies have a good idea of how their customers feel about the hotels they send them to. In other words, these experts are pretty much like experienced travelers themselves, knowing which hotels are better than others. They can be an excellent source of information if your beach hotel of choice is one that you’ve never been to before, or even if the location you’re heading to is new to you.
Be a little careful with what these agents recommend, however. Even if a hotel is mediocre at best, they might try to sell the hotel as the best place ever. They do this because they’re a business, after all, trying to help out the hotels and to hit their sales quota to make more money at the end of the day.
While there is no one perfect way to help you decide on a beach hotel, doing at least one we’ve shared with you will give you a better chance of selecting an accommodation that will please you. If you do have the time, utilize two or more methods at deciphering the right hotel. That way, you give yourself the best chance at landing the perfect beach hotel.
